The Norwegian International Film Festival cooperates with Norwegian Festival of Dance and Film.
Norwegian festival of Dance and Film, is a festival dedicated to national and international dancefilm. It´s a spanking new festival, with a burning desire to shed light on the dancefilm genre. An important and beautiful art form.
In August 2010 Norwegian Festival of Dance and Film was established, as a pilotproject, arranged within the frames of the long-established Norwegian Internation Film Festival in Haugesund. The festival was born from a desire to bring filmmakers and dance artists together, and highlight the growing field of dance for camera. To create a space where artists from both fields could share experiences, stories, and pave the way for the launch of new projects.
The Festival is, and will be an important meeting place for everyone with a professional interest in dance and film.
Norwegian Festival of Dance and Film offers;
- A selection of international short films in the field of dance for camera
- On- site events, which will contribute to bring focus to the field of performance and film
- Seminars and workshops relevant to the arenas of both dance art, filmmaking and the collaborative relationship between the two art forms
- Discussions aimed at communication between dance and filmmaking
- Current documentaries and features that work in collaboration and discussions with dance art
The selection of films at Norwegian Festival of Dance and Film represents a variety of genres within the field, and the festival has sought to bring films that will excite and inspire, as well as bring attention to both national and international filmmaking that works with the relationship between dance and film.
Norwegian Festival of Dance and Film is supported by The Norwegian International Filmfestival Haugesund, Filmkraft, Haugesund Sparebank, Haugesunds Avis, SR Bank and AEPEX.
