"Til siste hinder" to open Cinemagi in Haugesund (6 June 2011)

The Norwegian International Film Festival is proud to announce that Anders Øvergaard's debut film Til siste hinder will open the new side programme Cinemagi in Haugesund on Monday 22 August.

- We are very happy to be able to open our new programme for children and youth with Til siste hinder, Tonje Hardersen, Programme Responsible for Cinemagi, says. - This is a great genre film for children and horse aficionados of all ages, with brave girls as protagonists and an engaging story from a very beautiful Nordland. It is also a rare pleasure to present a Norwegian family film from an original script, made by enthusiastic filmmakers outside the public support system, a highly satisfied Tonje Hardersen says.

Til siste hinder is based on an original screenplay by Kathrine Haugen. We meet 15-year-old Ida, fashion blogger and city girl. Moving with her parents to a small farm in Nordland, she hates her new life from the first moment. But when she meets a horse named Kehilan, life suddenly gets new meaning. Til siste hinder is a feel-good drama about girls and horses.

Kathrine Haugen of Filimo Film is also the producer of the film, together with Odd Gunnar Iversen of Atomfilm.

- Producing a feature film for the first time, with a 23-year-old first-time filmmaker, with a budget of one million and a bunch of big horses, turned out to be a thriller, Kathrine Haugen says. - It has also been lots of action, some horror shocks and not a little situation comedy. We who did this, without being sure at the outset whether we would succeed in bringing a finished product to the screen, are all incredibly happy by the honour of opening the new Cinemagi programme in Haugesund with Til siste hinder, she says.

Til siste hinder is distributed by Star Media Entertainment and will receive its regular theatrical release on 26 August.

Cinemagi
Cinemagi will replace the Children's Film Fest during the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund.

- The time was ripe to find a more suitable name for this programme, which for 24 years has enthused children and family audiences in Haugesund, Tonje Hardersen says. - Cinemagi is a name that reflects the programme's broad range and its sheer movie pleasure: from the joy of giving great film experiences to small children who attend a cinema screening for the first time, to giving 12 or 13-year-olds the opportunity to discover the diversity of today's movie world.
