Cinema ItaliaItaly and Italian cinema have a special place in our hearts. The festival regularly presents new Italian films, in co-operation with the Italian Culture Institute in Oslo and the organisation Filmitalia in Rome. |
CinemagiCinemagi will open on Monday 22 August. The programme consists of new children’s films that will receive a theatrical release during the fall of 2011. The screenings take place at the Festiviteten Concert Hall. |

Special ScreeningsThese films have no other common denominator than the fact that they do not naturally fit into the main programme. |
French TouchFrance has a special position in European cinema. Since 2006, the festival, in co-operation with Institut français and Unifrance, has showcased French films and co-productions in the main programme. New French films are also regularly presented in a special programme, as is the case this year. |
Wenche Foss retrospectiveThe Norwegian International Film Festival celebrates and reminisces about Wenche Foss the movie actress, who at times was completely overshadowed by Wenche Foss the diva, the public debater, the theatre phenomenon, the TV star, the interview object, the verbal virtuoso and the queen. |
Critics WeekThese are films selected by recognised international film critics. The programme is presented for the 14th time, in co-operation with the Norwegian Film Critics’ Association. The critics that select the films visit the festival to present them for the audience. |
15+15+ is a special youth programme, in which we screen films that take young people seriously – engaging, exciting and powerful films that portray young people in a time of transition and change. |
VideoramaThis has been a regular feature of the festival since 2001 and consists of new quality films that will be released straight to the DVD market. |
New Nordic Films
17 - 21 August 2011
The New Nordic Films market programme consists of around 20 new films from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland. Since New Nordic Films is a closed event the program will be distributed by mail to participants. |
