Nordic Co-Production Market

This is a two-day event targeting producers, investors, film funds and sales agents with a professional interest in co-productions. Nordic Co-Production and Film Financing Market's goal is to support the producers of feature-length fiction film projects that contain a link to the Nordic regions. Qualifying features will be produced or co-produced by a country in this area or are movies that contain story elements based in this region.

Who may participate?
Production companies in the Nordic countries, Great Britain and France may submit their feature film projects to be considered for participation. Producers from other countries may also apply with a film project if it has a link to the Nordic countries either in story or by actively seeking a Nordic co-producer.

Selection
A selection of these project submissions will then be made based on criteria described below. Descriptions of the projects will be published in our New Nordic Films catalogue which will be distributed during the event. It will also be electronically mailed to every participant before the event.

Project criteria:
  • Full-length cinema feature film
  • Suitable for an international co-production
  • Completed screenplay in English (preferably)
  • Production budget limits: from 1,5 million Euros
  • At least 30% of the budget already covered (preferably)
  • Company must have completed one international co-production
Project submission:
  • Fully completed submission form
  • Treatment in English (5 - 8 pages) to be e-mailed to roger@kino.no

In Haugesund
All participants will be sent the complete catalog information in advance with presentations of the selected projects. In cooperation with the Norwegian Film and TV Producers' Association, we will arrange individual meetings with the relevant producers after the presentation of the various projects. In addition, we will facilitate informal and friendly meeting places where it’s easy for participants to get to know each other.

We want to create an environment that will help the participants acquaint themselves with financial opportunities and contemporary trends within the international market. There There will also be inspiring debates and case studies of high relevance for the international film industry focusing upon the opportunities inherent in co-productions.

Nordic Co-Production and Film Financing Forum is arranged in co-operation with the Norwegian Film & TV Producers Association and European Producers Club, and supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture and Church Affairs, Film & Kino, Norwegian Film Institute, Rogaland County Municipality. It is organized in co-operation with Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, the Norwegian Film Commission, Filmkraft Rogaland, Cineuropa and MEDIA Desk Norge.
