Farewell, My Queen

July 1789. During what turns out to be the last days of Versailles, its usual quiet and resplendence seem to reign, but in the servant corridors rumours rapidly spread about the storming of the Bastille.
Sidonie Laborde is employed by the court to read to the queen, whom she admires above all else on Earth. But the queen’s absolute favourite is Gabrielle de Polignac, hated by both the court and the people. As the revolutionaries start to publish evergrowing death lists, panic spreads. Sidonie tries to keep a cool head while others are in the process of losing theirs, literally speaking. Morale is sinking and various escape strategies are hatched. The queen gives her last order to Sidonie, and the question is how far she is willing to go for her beloved Marie Antoinette.
