Laura, a 23-year-old beauty, dreams of winning the regional beauty contest but gets involuntarily tangled up in a brutal spiral of violence and crime in lawless Mexico.
After having survived the first qualification round for Miss Bala California, Laura is in heaven. But everything falls apart the same night when she becomes a terrified witness to a merciless massacre in a night club. The man behind it turns out to be the leader of one of the worst drug gangs in the city. He takes a liking to Laura, who must reluctantly let herself be used as a piece in the gang’s dirty game.
