THE 35TH NORWEGIAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Haugesund, 17 - 24 August 2007, Children's Film Fest 19 - 23 August, New Nordic Films 21 - 24 August.

Welcome to seven packed days of Film Festival in Haugesund 17 - 24 August. During the eight days of activities we aim to present some 100 feature films for the cinema, representing a wide geographical and cultural section.

Press conferences, audience encounters with the artists, the Children's Film Fest, seminars, professional talks, Festival Exhibition and a variety of social and cultural events will fill the days - and nights - of the 2007 Norwegian International Film Festival.

On Friday, 17 August, TV2 Television transmits the Amanda Awards ceremony live from Haugesund, and we bid welcome to previews and other events leading up to the official opening on Saturday night. Then we are up and running until Friday 24 August.

New Nordic Films (NNF) 21 - 24 August
This is an annual market at the long established Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund. The market is in its 13th year and is a unique opportunity for international distributors, TV-companies and members of the press to see new Nordic features. New Nordic Films also offers a special possibility to meet other Nordic filmmakers, producers, agents, buyers and distributors during the festival.

The features represent different genres, but all aim to please a market of wide range, in and outside the Nordic countries. New Nordic Films is arranged with support from the Nordic Film- and TV Fund, the Ministry of Cultural Affairs in Norway, Scandinavian Films and in collaboration with the Nordic Film Institutes.

Participation in the Festival is restricted to film and cinema professionals and students, members of the press and official representatives of local and national government bodies. Accreditation should be completed before the end of May.

Films, Programmes
The Festival Main Programme is devoted to feature films for theatrical release. Titles are selected on artistic merit. The Festival co-operates closely with Norwegian distributors in selecting films for screening at the Festival and Nordic bodies for screening at New Nordic Films.
