New Nordic Films
21 - 24 August 2007
New Nordic Films is an annual Nordic film market during the long-established
Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund. From its start in 1995
we have expanded and cultivated the event year by year, and New Nordic
Films, with three hundred participants and screening about thirty new films
each year, is now the most important meeting place for everyone with a
professional interest in Nordic films.
This market offers a unique opportunity to see the best of the new Nordic
features, and its three intensive days provide an efficient meeting place
for the international and Nordic film industry.
The market is aimed
towards international and Nordic distributors, TV buyers, festival
programmers, sales agents, producers, directors and film funds.
In 2006 there were more than three hundred participants, including over
sixty buyers and many important film festival programmers from the likes of
the Berlin and Sundance film festivals. The programme contained thirty-one
new films and six works in progress were also presented.
The feature films of New Nordic Films represent a variety of genres. Every
film aims to please a wide-ranging market, in the Nordic countries as well
as internationally. In addition, New Nordic Films will present feature films
for children and young people that have been produced since last year's
event.
