THE SIXTH LAND

SYNOPSIS: The film revolves around a young mother, a victim of the war who represents the generation of civil war-torn women, children, and mothers of Northern Sri Lankanfor , but it makes the audience realize that the aftermath of war is universal. The location of the film shows the sixth type of land that the war created. Everyone is full of hopes, but what they seek makes the difference. The characters are fighting a different war.

ABOUT THE DIRECETOR: Anantha Ramanan was born in Mannar and lives in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. Because of the civil war, he became displaced very often, and had to study at six different schools and stopped schooling at the age of 15. He grew up in "Vanni" North of Sri Lanka and shared the experiences of the suffering. He entered the field of performing arts as a student dramatist and gradually flourished as a film-maker. He has been making short films since 2008 to voice the needs of the affected. He has been sharing his experiences with the film artists in the other provinces of Sri Lanka. "The sixth land" is Anantha Ramanan`s first feature film.
